Ensuring nyay (justice) to farmers, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi protects the interests of people like Anil Ambani but the Congress will protect the interests of farmers.
“Anil Ambani has taken loans worth ₹45,000 crore from banks, Nirav Modi ₹35,000 crore, Vijay Mallya ₹10,000 crore, and yet all are scot-free. But a farmer who has contributed in green revolution fails to repay a meagre ₹20,000, he is jailed. Is this nyay? We demand nyay for farmers. We have promised in our manifesto to decriminalise non-payment of debts by farmers. Let PM Modi protect the interests of people like Anil Ambani, we will protect our farmers,” Gandhi said while addressing a public meeting in Tapi, Gujarat.

“Narendra Modi did a surgical strike on the livelihood of the poor, small businesses, and the unemployed youth. We will do a surgical strike on poverty,” he added.
The Congress Chief further said that it is their duty to protect the land, water and forest resources, and they will do it.
