Sushma Swaraj calls out heinous trolls of her own party, Congress backs

Sushma Swaraj

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was viciously trolled by hate-mongers on Twitter, majority of who had Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photos as their display pictures. The attacks came in the backdrop of the External Affairs Ministry issuing passports to an inter-faith couple, who was recently in news for being denied passports due to inter-caste marriage.

The Congress Party came out in support of Swaraj and tweeted, “No matter the situation or reason, nothing calls for threats of violence, disrespect & abuse. @SushmaSwaraj ji, we applaud your decision to call out the heinous trolls of your own party”.

The External Affairs Minister took to Twitter to highlight the trolling she faced on the same platform. In her tweet, she said she had liked some of the tweets to show the kind of verbal attacks made against her by trolls.

“I was out of India from 17th to 23rd June 2018. I do not know what happened in my absence. However, I am honoured with some tweets. I am sharing them with you. So I have liked them,” she tweeted.

The trolls came in the backdrop of a Lucknow Passport Office official, Vikas Mishra, who was transferred after the inter-faith couple alleged that he lashed out at the wife for marrying a Muslim and asked the husband to convert to Hinduism.

Here are a few of the tweets being done to attack and humiliate Swaraj.

Something like this is really unfortunate, and such trolls coming from those who follow PM Modi is even worse.
