Patanjali to relocate food park out of UP, holds Yogi Adityanath govt. responsible

food park

Disappointed by the lack of cooperation from the state government, Yoga guru Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved Limited said it plans to relocate its Rs. 6,000 crore mega food park project out of Uttar Pradesh. Company’s managing director Acharya Balkrishna tweeted, “I received information about the central government-sanctioned mega food park been cancelled. The scheme to bring prosperity to the lives of the farmers in the holy land of Ram and Krishna will remain incomplete due to the apathy of the state government. Patanjali has decided to shift the project somewhere else.”

Balkrishna told ANI that despite after meeting the state government officials, ministers and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the issue did not get sort out due to the lackadaisical approach of the state government.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) had allotted 430 acres of land for industrial use and 25 acres for institutional use to Patanjali Ayurved in 2016. The company had said it planned to set up a university and research centre in the 25-acre plot.

The announcement comes as a huge embarrassment for the BJP as it is in power in the state currently. Also, Ramdev seems to be an ardent supporter of the BJP and has a strong following. At such a time, when the BJP faced heavy defeat in bypolls, the BJP cannot afford to miff its loyal supporters.

As per the latest, CM Adityanath spoke to Balkrishna today and has asked officials to look into the bottlenecks and resolve them. We wish if the BJP could be as responsive as this in the case of farmers also.
