The counting of the votes are on and the results would be announced in another few hours as to who will be forming the government in Karnataka, but, one believes it or not, it’s all about the greater person and party. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his campaigning in the state, made such nasty comments that his language does not behove the PM’s position.
During his campaign trail, PM Modi made a few controversial statements, but we are here to remind him of his silly mistakes and that he should start taking history lessons because he is really bad at the subject.
Here are his statements and our counter:
“How did the Congress governments treat field marshall Kodandera M Cariappa and general Kodandera Subayya Thimayya? History is proof of that. In 1948, after defeating Pakistan, general Thimayya was insulted by PM (Jawaharal) Nehru and defence minister Krishna Menon.”
For your kind information Mr. Modi, General Thimayya was the army chief from 1957 to 1961 and VK Krishna Menon was India’s defence minister from 1957 to 1962. We think he should really refer some good history book before coming up with such historically inaccurate statements.
“When Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Batukeshwar Dutt, Veer Savarkar were jailed fighting for the country’s independence, did any Congress leader go to meet them? But the Congress leaders meet the corrupt people who have been jailed.”

Four our unversed Modi ji, there are documents which show that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru indeed visited Bhagat Singh in Lahore jail in August 1929.
“For 15 minutes, without taking a paper in your hand, can you [Rahul Gandhi] please talk about the achievements of your government in Karnataka. You can speak in any language as you please- English, Hindi or your mother’s mother tongue.”
We would only want to request him to speak about the achievements of his party leader BS Yeddyurappa’s government in Karnataka for 15 minutes, and guess what, he can use paper if he wants.
So yes, whosoever wins, it’s all about carrying yourself with grace and dignity, which our Prime Minister has utterly failed in doing so.
