Karnataka polls: Congress president Rahul Gandhi reviews BJP’s Karnataka manifesto, rates 1 on 5

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday reviewed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Karnataka manifesto and said that it was a poorly crafted fantasy which had nothing unique to offer. He rated the manifesto 1 on 5 and recommended to avoid it. Gandhi asked the voters not to waste their on the manifesto as it had nothing substantial to offer.

“New Book Review! The BJP Karnataka Manifesto, inspired by Narendra Modi, is a poorly crafted fantasy built around a weak plot, that has nothing unique to offer voters. If you’ve read the Congress Manifesto, don’t waste your time on this one. Rating: 1/5 ⭐ Recommendation: Avoid,” Gandhi tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi has upped his social media game and has been very defensive from his side. He is seen targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government over loopholes and their inefficiency to deal with prevalent issues.

The BJP released its manifesto for Karnataka on Friday, promising to reach out to various sections, right from freebies for students and smartphones for Below Poverty Line (BPL) women, with its focus being largely on the farm sector. It promised to waive farm loans up to Rs 1 lakh availed of from cooperative as well as nationalised banks per person.

On the other hand, the Congress has made several commitments towards rural development, promotion of Kannada culture and minority welfare in its manifesto. Pitching for women empowerments, the party’s manifesto also mentions that they would work towards raising the employment level of women in the government workforce to 50 percent.

Karnataka will go to polls on May 12, and the results will be announced on May 15.
