One thing about the Congress President is that he is a regular guy, who likes the simple things in life. Like getting a meal with friends or watching a movie. And this Monday, that’s exactly what he did. He caught the latest release from the Star Wars franchise. No big deal. Right?
Except it was. For one of the news channels desperately trying to keep up in the TRP race, decided that Mr Gandhi going to the movies is a subject worth enquiry on national television. The facepalm emoji ?♂️, doesn’t even begin to cover it.
They were of course trying to raise (from the dead) a canard spread by a certain section of commentators that Mr Gandhi is not serious about politics. That Mr Gandhi managed to give PM Modi and his side kick Mr Shah (proclaimed by the self same commentators as ‘Chanakya, ‘strategist’ etc) a scare within the inch of their lives in their home state and stronghold is a testament to the seriousness with which he approaches politics.
This was a time where some pollsters told us that we will get a grand total of 34 seats in Gujarat. We did much better than that.
