With today’s Mehengai, Congress has got you covered with its wedding gifts suggestions

We are currently living in an India whose Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has hit over six-year low of 4.5 per cent, where onions have become so expensive that people are stealing it, where telecom operators have increased tariff rates by over 40 per cent, where the price of cylinder has crossed the mark of 1,000. If this is not mehengai (inflation), what is?

The Congress on Tuesday opted for a humorous way to mock the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre for its inefficiency to keep the Indian economy strong, and posted on Twitter what they termed as “perfect gifts this wedding season”.

“Finding the perfect gift can be a daunting task but worry not, this wedding season we’ve got you covered. #MehengaiMaarGayi,” the Congress wrote on its Twitter handle.

It posted an image along with the tweet which comprised the names of the “perfect gift” and called it “New India mei Shagun ka Lifafa”.

Next tweet read, “Abki baar mehengai ki maar, kyunki Modi hai toh mumkin hai. #MehengaiMaarGayi”

So, in case you are confused as to what you should give as a wedding gift, these suggestions are good enough. After all, the way their prices are increasing, they are soon going to leave gold and silver behind in the race of price rise.
