U.S. concerned about treatment of Muslims in India

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, has said that the U.S. Congress was and is concerned about the treatment of Muslims in India.

Pelosi made the comments during a Forum event in Washington DC while interacting with Chairman of the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) John Chambers.

“We were proud to welcome him [Prime Minister Modi] …to a joint session of Congress [in 2016]. We had some concerns about the treatment of Muslims in India — I have to mention it — then and now,” Pelosi said.

The kind of treatment meted out to Muslims in recent times is not hidden from anybody.
