While saying that the Congress believes in listening to every voice and working together with people, party President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not believe in the same.

“Everyone has to be listened. Everyone has to work together. Only then will the country move forward. However, PM Modi does not think so,” Gandhi said while addressing a public meeting in Faridkot, Punjab.

“The credit of the economic policy of the country in 1990 goes to Manmohan Singh Ji. He led a successful country for 10 years and Modi ji made fun of him. Today, the whole country is joking about Modi,” Gandhi said.

“Manmohan Singh had talked of 2% decline in GDP during the time of demonetisation and that is what happened. The economy collapsed,” Gandhi said.

“Today the youth of India is ready to challenge China. We will cooperate with such youth and give them a free hand for the first three years of their business,” Gandhi added.

Condemning Modi for his “the country was sleeping before Modi came to power” remark, Gandhi said that by saying so he has insulted the crores of people in the country.

“This country has progressed due to the strength of the people’s hard work,” he said.
