Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about ‘Congress-mukt Bharat’ because he is scared and knows that only Congress can defeat him.
“The Congress Party is defeating PM Modi in the 2019 elections. Modi ji spoke of ‘Congress-mukt Bharat’ he knows that only Congress can defeat him,” Gandhi said while addressing a public meeting in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh.
Talking about the things the Congress intends to do for farmers, Gandhi said that if they come to power they will introduce a separate budget for farmers as well as no farmer will be jailed for being unable to pay his loan.
Taking a jibe at PM Modi, the Gandhi scion said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) complained about the ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ slogan because they are scared.

Launching an attack on PM Modi, the Congress Chief said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave lakhs and crores of rupees to 15 people, but the Congress will help 25 crore poor people.”
“Under the NYAY scheme, we will transfer ₹ 72,000 in bank accounts of 50 million families. There are two goals of the NYAY scheme- one, helping the poor directly. Second, to accelerate the economy. NYAY yojana will be a surgical strike on poverty,” Gandhi said.
“Modi has betrayed the youth in the name of employment. We will give 22 lakh youth government jobs within a year. At Panchayat level, we will employ 10 lakh youth,” he added.
