An anti-corruption Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in France has filed a complaint with the office of French National Financial Prosecutor demanding a probe in the Rafale deal, which was signed between India and France in September 2016.
The complaint filed by Sherpa NGO, highlights “potential acts of corruption, granting of undue advantages, influence peddling, complicity of these offenses and money laundering.”
French newsportal Mediapart reported on Friday that the complaint was filed in October with the office of French National Financial Prosecutor. It has also demanded a probe into the circumstances which led to Dassault Aviation choosing Anil Ambani’s Reliance group as its offset partner.

It has raised questions on Reliance Defence being chosen as the offset partner despite having no prior experience in manufacturing jets and getting registered just twelve days before the announcement of the finalisation of the contract.
The Indian Express had sent mails to the media officer at the Prosecutor’s office but did not get any response and so, it is not clear of an investigation has been initiated by the French National Financial Prosecutor.
According to Mediapart, Sherpa NGO claims to “fight against illicit financial flows; corruption, money laundering, tax evasion” and “on ill-gotten asset.”
