RSS has zero contribution to Indian nationalism, is anti-national: Yogendra Yadav

Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav on Tuesday hit out at the parent organisation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and said since it is “against the Swadharma of India,” hence it is “anti-national.”

Yadav took to Twitter and said RSS has zero contribution to Indian nationalism.

“Nothing courageous, sir. Just stated plain facts. RSS has ZERO contribution to Indian nationalism. Their very concept of nation is European. They want Hinduism to be like Islam and Christianity. Their problem is not just that they are anti Muslim, but that they are anti national,” he tweeted.

His tweet came as a response to a Twitter user applauding him for being courageous to speak truth.

However, another Twitter user accused the Swaraj India president of making vague remarks.

Responding to this Twitter user, Yadav wrote, ” Sir, I have seen @RSSorg from inside and outside. I have read its thinkers, who are better than its current leaders. And I have respect for you. But I can’t let personal affection come in the way of stating the truth: RSS is against the Swadharma of India. Hence anti-national.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Yadav appeared on a news channel, while participating in a debate revolving around RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s speech. He said, “It’s basic ideological tenets are borrowed from Europe. It is a completely imported ideology which belongs more to Germany than to India. Their concept of nationalism is taken from Europe. Their idea of what is Hindu is nothing but an imitation of Christianity and Islam. So whether RSS really wants to be Indian before giving a certificate of who is Indian and who is not? Is RSS itself Indian, is the question I want to ask.”

This comes in the backdrop of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s speeches made at the three-day conclave organised by the Sangh parivar, trying to state that “Hindutva” was an inclusive concept and did not represent hostility towards Muslims.

People are speculating on the reasons why Bhagwat is trying to sound democratic and inclusive in his speeches.
