The Congress on Monday accused Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of being indulged in a Rs. 1,767crore land scam.
The Congress alleged that a land in Navi Mumbai, with estimated value of Rs. 1,767 crore was sold for a mere Rs. 3.60 crore to a builder by the name of Paradise Builders.
“Land with estimated value of ₹ 1767 cr has been sold for a mere ₹3.60 cr by duping the gullible oustees farmers, Entire transaction could not have taken place without the collusion/ministry of urban development controlled directly by CM @Dev_Fadnavis #FadnavisLandScam,” the Congress said in a press conference.
At the cost of farmers, BJP once again indulged in crony capitalism.
The land in question belongs to the City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDC), headed by Fadnavis, which was reportedly intended to rehabilitate project affected persons and farmers of the Koyna Dam project.

Mumbai Congress president Sanjay Nirupam and Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala termed it as a mega scam.
“Causing loss to the public exchequer and betraying the poor in order to shower the rich crony friends is deeply intrinsic character of the BJP. The ‘suit-boot’ governments at the centre and in BJP-ruled states seek to outbid each other in benefitting their handful of crony friends,” said Nirupam.
The Congress demanded to know the relationship CIDC and Paradise Builders and how Fadnavis agreed to give a Rs. 1767 worth land at a pittance of Rs. 3.60 crore.
