Karnataka Election: Our manifesto contains the Mann Ki Baat of the Karnataka people, says Rahul Gandhi

While releasing the Karnataka manifesto in Mangaluru today, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that their manifesto contains the Mann ki Baat of the Karnataka people. “The Prime Minister likes to tell people his Mann ki Baat. This manifesto contains the Mann ki Baat of the Karnataka people,” Rahul Gandhi said.

The Congress president further said that 95 percent of things the Congress mentioned in its last manifesto have been done. “This is not the manifesto that has been made by 3 or 4 people in a closed room. This is a manifesto that has been made by going to every single district, every single block, every single community, and every single region of this state. We have not gone to the people of Karnataka and told them this is what we want to do. We have asked them what do they want their government to do,” he said.

The Congress president also thanked party MP Veerappa Moily for getting the manifesto prepared. “Moily ji spent hours and hours of his time going to every district and every block. I would like to thank him and his team for delivering this,” he said. “BJP manifesto is decided by 3-4 leaders…There will be the idea of Reddy Brothers in that manifesto. It will not be the manifesto of the people of Karnataka. It will be the manifesto of the RSS.  They will put in it what they think is good for Karnataka. I am not here to tell the people of Karnataka what is good for them. I am here to listen to them and ask them what they think is good for them. That is the difference between Congress and our opponents,” he added.

Later in the day, Rahul Gandhi will also visit Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Temple in Dakshina Kannada district. He will leave for Delhi later in the evening today.

The Congress is expected to win a second term in Karnataka, whereas the BJP, which was in power till May 2013, is looking to make a comeback, but the chances of which seem to be very dim.
